Born in Geneva Switzerland. Set up a ceramics studio in 1979 with Charles Spacey – thirteen years later they moved their joint studio to Montgomeryshire. After reading for a degree in Modern Languages and teaching for some years, Brigitte returned to ceramics and now runs her own workshop in Mid Wales. Her work is influenced by both British and continental styles and she has exhibited widely in Europe. Her pieces are graceful without compromising functionality. Although Brigitte has always had a love of throwing – this exhibition displays her signature tea pots and jugs – she is also exploring the potential of hand built techniques. The exhibition includes teapots, bowls and jugs, stoneware and porcelain, thrown and hand built. Pieces are fired in a gas kiln at 1300ºC. |
